💃 Module 4: Dance Party (Choreography)
Teaching the robot to move in sequences
Record and replay movement sequences—the foundation of learning from demonstration.
Learning Objectives
- Understand sequences of poses as "choreography"
- Record demonstrations (teaching by showing)
- Replay and iterate on recorded moves
Hands-On Activities (Robot)
- Record a dance: Move the arm through key poses and save each one. Build a sequence that tells a story or mimics a dance.
- Replay and edit: Replay the sequence. Add, remove, or reorder poses to improve the routine.
- Group dance: Create a camp-wide dance by combining sequences from multiple teams.
Off-Robot / Tactile Activity: Sequence Memory Game
Reinforces: Choreography = sequence of poses. Robots learn patterns, not single moves.
How to Run It
- Teacher shows a short sequence of arm poses (photos or live demonstration).
- Kids replicate the sequence from memory.
- Add one pose each round. See how long a sequence the group can remember.
Teamwork
- Each team designs a 5-pose dance and teaches it to another team
- Combine team dances into a camp-wide routine
